This fundraiser is to help the families of the victims of Majory Stoneman Douglas High School, whose lives were tragically ended much too early.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke
February 14th is a day that we were all victimized by one person’s desire to inflict evil upon innocent lives. As fellow Broward County and South Florida residents, our Tech Community, much like your families fell witness to the shock of this senseless act.
We can’t claim to understand how a sick individual can maim another human being but we think that we must say "No More" and call upon our nation to protect our children and society. This is why the SFTA is moved to do more than just have compassion, we are moved to action – one small kind gesture in solidarity with our community – we are challenging everyone who knew someone in that school, a teacher in that school or one of the victims or survivors to help us raise funds for those in need. Your tax deductible gifts will be presented to the Broward Education Foundation (5013c) to help those impacted and it is a fully approved and vetted organization endorsed by Florida Govenor Rick Scott.
The South Florida Technology Alliance (SFTA) promotes the growth, success, and awareness of the regional technology community. Through events, networking, programs and education and goodwill in our community. And remember – there’s many ways we can help during a time of need; lend a hand, cook a meal, give blood at www.oneblood.org or give to this fundraiser to stand with our neighbors in times of need.
The funds that are collected will be presented to the Broward Education Foundation to be distributed to families of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that were impacted by this horrific event.
Thank you in advance for your help.
